LOORRS to Speedworld in Surprise Arizona

The return of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series to Speedworld in Surprise Arizona saw some new yet familiar faces. Well known to most short course racing fans, Adrian Cenni showed up in his Unlimited 4 race truck to do battle with the LOORRS regulars. Cenni’s all-out driving style has resulted in some spectacular crashes and miraculous saves in the past that have fueled controversy and outright scorn from some. To be fair, all the top drivers in the sport have had their share of wicked wrecks. In order to win in this sport you have to push the limits on a regular basis. The love him or hate him attitude towards Cenni might come from his refusal to shy away from the controversy. Driving a blindingly, bright orange truck and going by the nickname “Wildman” does not exactly help to blend in with the crowd and no doubt agitates his detractors as much as it excites his fans. True to form, Adrian Cenni did not come to Speedworld to blend in.
After getting limited seat time during Saturday’s race due to an electrical glitch that disabled the front drive, Cenni put it all together on Sunday holding off the juggernaut of Carl Renezeder and the flyin’ Hawaiian, Alan Pflueger as well as the other hard chargers in Unlimited 4. Renezeder and Pflueger dogged Cenni for most of the race trying everything in their extensive bag of tricks to get by but Cenni was immune to the pressure. “I tried to run a conservative pace without hanging it out too much”, said Cenni, “If Carl was going to get by, he would have to pass me outside as I was holding the inside line”. “My King shocks allowed me to pass more than one driver through the mogul section and were flawless on this track where you spend a long time in the air”, said Adrian. With Adrian’s win, Carl in second and Alan taking third it was a King Shocks sweep of the podium in Unlimited 4 competition.

Speaking of sweeps congratulations are in order for the perfect weekend put in by Limited Buggy driver John Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald would lead flag to flag with King Shock’s driver Bryan Freeman finishing second on Saturday and battle through the pack to win again on Sunday capturing fourth place in the season long points chase.

The limited buggy class has seen some intense competition this year and we would like to give recognition to John Fitzgerald, Tim and James Pangborn, Justin Davis, Curt Geer, Sean Kennedy, Bryan Freeman, Ricky Gutierrez, Rino Navera, Joe Whiteley and Kenny Freeman for their continual success all season.
